BPI Group

Building effective organizations to ensure shared success.

At BPI group, we believe the key to achieving strategic success is having the right people in the right roles, performing the right activities.

BPI group works with clients to design and build organizational capabilities to deliver better performance by asking what structures, processes and roles will best support your strategy and accomplish desired outcomes.  We apply our experience and client-focused approach to help you:

    • Implement innovative strategies and initiatives to drive performance improvement;
    • Assess current culture, and establish compatible methods to manage change;
    • Determine how organizations should be structured to optimize business strategies;
    • Identify performance gaps and design organizational interventions to bridge them

We partner with our clients to address the following needs:

  • Organizational design.  We help clients design and build organizational capabilities to deliver better performance.
  • Role design/clarification.  We help clients understand what activities they need to carry out; what roles they need to fill and how they can best fill those roles.
  • Culture change/integration.  We help clients understand how their culture may need to shift to support their strategy or their new, post-merger or acquisition state.  Then, we make that change happen with the least amount of disruption.
  • Workforce planning/Succession planning.  We help clients assess their talent needs and figure out whether the supply of talent meets the demand and what they may need in the future from a succession standpoint.

We are experienced in aligning your organization’s structure to drive strategy.  We believe that for change to endure, organizations must change the way in which individuals, at all levels of the organization, work.  We also believe that in order to make a business strategy “stick,” you must:

    • Make a vision come to life with clear strategies, initiatives and well-defined work activities;
    • Group work activities into refined or redefined jobs;
    • Put the right people into the right roles.

Recent Client Work

Life in the (Selection) Fast Lane: a Case Study

Perhaps you have heard the popular analogy about changing the tires on a car…while going 90 miles per hour? Quite recently, we were able to experience what that must feel like as a client asked us to help them design a new division and fill over 500 roles…in three months!  As daunting as that was, our team’s combination of innovative project management skills, selection process savvy and expertise in organization effectiveness allowed us to succeed, even as we were zooming ahead at breakneck speed.

Our client had limited capacity to manage a data and time-intensive selection process while also effectively engaging key stakeholders and designing the new organization.  Our task was ensure the process of selecting people to staff the new organization was implemented efficiently, accurately and consistently which meant integrating from the start with the client team and working alongside them. Through this collaboration, the project team created and implemented a selection process, maintained data integrity and provided valuable analytics.

The process?  We created and administered online surveys to 1,000 current employees, allowing them to express interest in future-state roles and geographical locations.  We also identified high-priority competencies and behavioral indicators, then created a tool for managers to assess current employee performance. Our team also developed slate reports used by nine separate selection panels across the country, with key information about employees eligible for each of 500+ roles.  Using a comprehensive tool to track employee information and selection data provided the ability to route real-time data back to multiple HR leaders for clarity in decision-making. A dashboard was designed to report on outcomes, including diversity metrics. Finally, we created communications to support roll-out of selection activities and tools for employees, managers and the senior leadership team.

Looking back in the rearview mirror, at the end of the three month period, we succeeded in helping the client meet their deadline, resulting in the selection of 500+ roles in the new organization. The feedback we received from employees and business unit leaders that the selection process was run more effectively than past initiatives, in terms of overall communication, flow of information and the accessibility of data and other critical information needed to make selection decisions. Our client was squarely on the road to ensuring their new division was staffed with the best talent possible.
