
Steve Spires
Managing Director, Southeast
Steve Spires is Managing Director, Southeast Region for BPI group, a leading human resources and coaching firm.
Mr. Spires joined the company in 2009, bringing extensive executive leadership experience in managing and growing businesses ranging from Fortune 100 companies including Milliken, General Electric and Tyco International, as well as private equity firms with holdings in diverse industries.
In his current role, Mr. Spires oversees the delivery of the firm’s high-quality, personalized services throughout the Southeast region, and he manages the BPI group offices in Atlanta, Tampa, Fla., Birmingham, Ala., and Greenville, S.C. He focuses on building and expanding relationships with organizations and individuals throughout the region, while sharing the firm’s global presence and expertise.
Prior to joining BPI group, Mr. Spires was president and CEO of Executrack, an Atlanta-based career transition and management consulting firm. BPI group acquired Executrack in 2009, giving the firm its first presence in the Southeast. He also previously served as President and CEO of NMC/Focal Point, a producer of high-end architectural and building products, and of REI Holdings, with numerous operating entities in the U.S. and Europe. Among his other executive experience, Mr. Spires worked as president and CEO of Wesley International, a product and service provider to the supply chain industry, and he was a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of a global HR consulting firm.
For more than a decade, Mr. Spires served as an executive coach to numerous individuals and consultant to executive management in strategy and team development. He has been an associate with the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business in leadership development and is certified by Management Research Group and Culture Link.
Mr. Spires holds an MBA from The Moore School at the University of South Carolina, where he also obtained a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology.
Mr. Spires serves on the Board for the Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business and also serves on the Advisory Board for the Metropolitan Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Atlanta Rotary Club and was on the advisory board of the Society of Human Resource Professionals.
